Accomplishments: Greater Philadelphia Urban Waters Location
2015
William Penn Foundation
The local Partnership worked with the William Penn Foundation on a $2.4M grant awarded through the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation in mid-July 2014 to support work on the Delaware River watershed. Because of the linkages between the local Partnership and the William Penn Foundation, numerous funded projects will be implemented in collaboration with various other Partnership projects.
NESt (Neighborhood Environmental Stewardship)
Audubon will partner with the USFW’s John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge to implement the NESt (Neighborhood Environmental STewardship) program throughout Philadelphia. NESt is a multifaceted community engagement project, which includes innovative hands-on programming at the refuge, at schools and in neighborhoods, engaging Philadelphians in local conservation action. NESt inspires environmental stewardship, increasing the number of citizens actively engaged in conservation of the Delaware Watershed.
