National Farmworker Training RFA

The EPA requires agricultural employers to protect farm workers and pesticide handlers from pesticide related illness and injury. One way this is achieved is through a pesticide safety training program that teaches farm workers and handlers about pesticides and how to protect themselves. The grantee will develop and administer a pesticide safety training program for farm workers, their families and other members of the agricultural community. With this five-year cooperative agreement, EPA expects to provide up to $500,000 annually, depending on the Agency’s budget. Funding Distribution Program for Pesticide Safety Education Programs (PSEPs) RFA

Pesticide applicators receive training and education on how to safely use restricted use pesticides. These Pesticide Safety Education Programs (PSEPs) are generally administered by State Cooperative Extension Services at Land Grant Universities. The grantee will establish a system to distribute funds to PSEPs. With this five-year cooperative agreement, EPA expects to provide up to $1,000,000 annually, depending on the Agency’s budget. Pesticide Safety Resource Projects RFA
The EPA’s partners and stakeholders conduct outreach and education on the safe use of pesticides by applicators and handlers in agricultural, commercial and residential settings. The grantee will coordinate the development of materials and resources for this purpose. EPA anticipates a greater need for communications upon revisions to the Worker Protection Standard and Certified Applicator regulations. With this five-year cooperative agreement, EPA expects to provide over $1,000,000 annually, depending on the Agency’s budget. Applications closed July 12, 2015.
Field Implementation Meeting Support RFA
The EPA cooperates with partners and stakeholders on programs and activities to advance the safe use of pesticides. EPA anticipates a greater need for collaboration upon revisions to the Worker Protection Standard and Certified Applicator regulations. The grantee will coordinate meetings, workshops and conferences. With this five-year cooperative agreement, EPA expects to provide $700,000 the first year. Applications closed July 5, 2015.
