Art is My Occupation empowers students to explore their personal and artistic identity, connects them to professional creatives, and provides career guidance and resources. Programming includes two events per academic quarter and a winter-quarter class (MUSIC 6F: Art is My Occupation: Professional Development in Music).

Events may be panel discussions, brown bag lunches, hands-on workshops or field trips. Through these events and the class, students will explore how to shape their educational experience and career to achieve long-term goals, how to define success and fulfillment, how artists and arts administrators work together to create a cohesive creative community, and various methods and skills from other fields that will be helpful tools in an arts-related career.
