Thomas J. Fogarty, MD Lecture Series
Every year the Department of Surgery and the Biodesign Program co-sponsor a lecture by a renowned innovator in the biomedical sciences. The lectures are named in honor of Thomas J. Fogarty, inventor of the embolectomy balloon catheter among other devices. Fogarty's balloon catheter procedure was the first successful examples of "less invasive" (and so, less traumatic) vascular surgery. The event is free and open to the public.
