Vijay is an MD/MBA candidate at Stanford University and alum of the Stanford U.S. Biodesign Fellowship and Stanford Mayfield Entrepreneurial Fellowship. He also holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford.

Prior to Biodesign, Vijay worked at Intersect ENT, a local otolaryngology startup. At Intersect ENT, he led the design of Propel Mini, a combination drug-device therapy for chronic sinusitis, a condition affecting 1 in 7 adults in America. Propel Mini received US regulatory FDA approval in 2012 and has been used to treat thousands of patients across America. In July 2014, Intersect ENT became a publicly traded company (XENT) on the NASDAQ stock exchange.

As a Biodesign Fellow, Vijay and his team focused on developing new treatments in the field of neuroscience and neurosurgery. He and his team developed a new treatment for Essential Tremor, a movement disorder ten times more common than Parkinson’s disease.

As a medical student, Vijay worked at LUNAR, a San Francisco based design firm. At LUNAR, Vijay worked with Biodesign Fellows in India to develop low-cost emergency medicine technologies for patients in India.

Vijay is an inventor at heart and loves to prototype. He is an inventor on over 4 patents to date.
