John has been working as a scientist and entrepreneur in the biomaterials/tissue engineering field, discovering and developing new medical technologies. He co-founded Symic Biomedical, which is addressing needs in vascular intervention and osteoarthritis. He is also a co-founder of Resido Medical out of the Biodesign Fellowship, which is developing a device for treating Essential Tremor. John is committed to education outreach and was an NSF GK-12 Fellow where he developed and taught lessons that have been internationally adopted. He also co-founded Science on Tap Lafayette, which is a monthly open community forum where Purdue faculty share their research with the public. In keeping balance with the science side, he is also a musician and can sometimes be found playing at a local venue, and is an outdoor enthusiast and avid runner.
