Guy J. Lebeau, M.D., Company Group Chairman, Johnson & Johnson oversees the MD&D business for Europe, Middle East and Africa. This diverse business with more than 15,000 employees comprises seven franchises and has a combined income in excess of $6 billion. In addition to his leadership role within Johnson & Johnson, Dr Lebeau is actively involved in Eucomed - Europe’s regional trade association for the medical technology industry – and was named Chairman of the Board in October 2007. Dr Lebeau has broad international experience in business management and medical technology. He joined Johnson & Johnson in 1991 in research & development and later moved to medical devices business units where he held positions of increased responsibility in sales and marketing. More recently Dr Lebeau was named Worldwide President, Biosense Webster, the electrophysiology business unit, in 2001. In 2003 Dr Lebeau was appointed Worldwide President of Cordis Corporation. In 2004 he was named Company Group Chairman for the Cordis Franchise, the cardiovascular business unit. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Dr Lebeau served as Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Digestive Surgery Department (Organ Transplant Unit) at the University of Rennes (France) School of Medicine. Dr Lebeau graduated from the University of Rennes (France) and Paris (France) and holds Master's degrees in cellular biology and transplant immunology. He is also certified in general surgery. Dr. Lebeau has authored journal articles and book chapters in the fields of hepathology, liver transplant and general surgery.
