Martin B. Leon, M.D., is the Director of the Center for Intervention Vascular Therapy at Columbia University Medical Center/New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Additionally, he is a Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, New York. He is a specialist in interventional cardiology and structural and valvular medicine. Dr. Leon is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiology and interventional cardiology. Dr. Leon began his career after receiving his M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine in 1975. From there, he went on to complete an internship and a residency in internal medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. Then, from 1978 until 1980, he served as a Clinical Associate of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) NHLBI Cardiology Section. From NIH, he went back to Yale to complete a fellowship in Cardiology. After finishing the fellowship in 1982, Dr. Leon accepted the position of Senior Investigator at the NIH.
