Elisabeth is a second year General Surgery Resident at Washington University in St. Louis' Barnes Jewish Hospital. Elisabeth attended the University of Virginia where she received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering in 2008 and her Medical Degree in 2012. Elisabeth's interest in creating medical technology extends beyond the lab to utilizing it to improve outcomes for patients. While maintaining her connections with the BME department during medical school she discovered in her third year surgery rotation that surgeons in many ways are the engineers of medicine and found her calling. She also actively collaborated in building research projects between biomedical engineering students, faculty and surgeons. Elisabeth grew up in Texas and Virginia and has many interests including cooking, travel, and sports. In particular, she enjoys figure skating, soccer, tennis, distance running and yoga.
