Phil Young is a venture partner at U.S Venture Partners (USVP). Mr. Young's specialty is in the medical device and biotechnology industry. Prior to joining USVP, Mr. Young served four years with Concord Partners. He also previously served as CEO of Oximetrix (acquired by Abbott Laboratories later becoming Abbott critical care, a medical device company specializing in critical care instruments and disposables. Before Oximetric, Mr. Young was at New Court Securities in venture capital and corporate finance for six years. Prior to that, he spent two years as a management consultant with the McKinsey & Co. and served for six years on Admiral Rickover's program management staff at the Atomic Energy Commission. Mr. Young also sits on the boards of directors of several companies representing USVP. He also currently serves on the boards of Trustees at Cornell University in addition to his other roles at Cornell which include Trustee Emeritus, a Presidential Counsellor, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of eCornell. Furthermore, Mr. Young serves as a member of the board of Trustees of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. Mr. Young received a B.M.E. from Cornell University, an M.S. in engineering physics from George Washington University, and an M.B.A. from Harvard where he was a Baker Scholar.
