Following his passion for design and innovation, Amit studied mechanical and automation engineering at the undergraduate level. While in college, he was active in various design competitions and workshops. Amit developed a programmable robot to facilitate document transfer and also worked on the development of a device for absolute squareness calibration of Master Cylinder at National Physical Laboratory, Delhi. Amit interned with Maruti Udyog Ltd. where he studied supply chain management.

He continued the study of design at the graduate level where he completed several design projects including the development of a balloon catheter inflation device, a multi-band ligator for laparoscopic surgery and design of a public transportation vehicle for 2010 Delhi Commonwealth games.

Amit received an M.Des. in Industrial Design from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and a B.Tech. in Mechanical & Automation Engineering from Guru Prem Sukh Memorial College of Engineering Delhi.
