Alan C. Yeung, M.D. has been the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Laboratories at Stanford University since 1998 in addition to his role as Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford since 2000. His clinical focus is in cardiology, cardiovascular disease, coronary artery disease, chronic total occlusions, complex coronary angioplasty, and mitral valvuloplasty. Dr. Yeung's current research interests include non-invasive methods of assessing vascular endothelial function, intravascular ultrasounds, the study of the restenosis process in a vivo pig model, and much more. He is also currently involved in several clinical trials in cardiovascular medicine. Dr. Yeung completed his medical degree from Harvard in 1984 and his internal medicine/cardiology training at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Brigham and Women's Hospital respectively. He joined the Stanford faculty in 1993. Dr. Yeung is board certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, and interventional cardiology from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
