Benjamin Glenn is a partner at Shay Glenn LLP., where he specializes in strategic patents and innovations counseling for medical device start-up companies. He has litigation, patent prosecution, and strategic counseling experience, allowing him to assist clients in establishing and protecting valuable intellectual property portfolios within emerging areas of medical device technology. Glenn primarily advises venture-backed companies and investors in intellectual property matters arising during investment rounds, corporate formation, and throughout the company's product development cycle. Mr. Glenn served in the United States Navy from 1987 until 1995, when he joined Applied Materials, Inc., where he was a process and patent engineer. Before graduating from law school in 2000, Mr. Glenn became a division patent counsel for Applied Materials. Mr. Glenn also served as an associate at Cooley Goward Kronish, LLP. and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, LLP. in the areas of intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution. Between 2005-2010, Mr. Glenn served at Patent Counsel to five companies: NeoGuide Systems, Spinal Modulation, VasoNova, Inc., Endosphere, Inc., Barrx Medical, Inc., InSite Medical, Maui Imaging, Inc., and Game Ready. In 2007 he became a partner at Shay Glenn, LLP. Glenn is admitted to practice in California and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Glenn has a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and his Law degree from Santa Clara University.
