Carla Leibowitz has spent 5 years designing medical devices in very different companies from a 3-person startup in a garage to Guidant and Medtronic. In her last year at Medtronic, she moved into an internal/external Business development job, and was in charge of assessing opportunities for internal development projects, running the early stage innovation program, and scouting outside opportunities as a member of the business development team. Carla Leibowitz is a Co-Founder of Vascular Pecision, a Bay Area medical device company that focused on the development and commercialization of novel devices for large arteriotomy closure. Carla helped build VP out of the Stanford Biodesign program and served as the company's head of engineering from 2005-2007. Prior to VP, Carla worked as a stent designer for Guidant VI (now Abbott Vascular). Carla received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2012, during which she served as lead advisor to the Biodesign teams. Carla received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford.
