Ari Chaney is the Executive Director for Technology Translation for the Biodesign Program where he serves as Project Manager for the Coulter Translational Grant Program and the SCCTER Program. He also assists faculty and students in technology translation and works with the Office of Technology Licensing to facilitate licensing of medical technology for Stanford.

Ari was previously President and Founder of Leveraged Restructuring, LLC where he advised buyout (LBO) firms and senior debt lenders in various aspects of their business, with particular emphasis on improving the operating performance of their portfolio companies. With LRG, he held Chairman or CEO positions with a number of companies including Neucel Specialty Cellulose, Monona Wire Corporation, Rapid Rack Industries and Bomar Industries. He was previously Vice President, Supply Chain for Florida Power & Light (FPL), President and CEO of Aladdin Industries and within General Electric, President & GM of Midwest Electric, Plant Manager of the Austintown Products Plant in GE Lighting, and Manager of Corporate Business Development in GE Corporate. Prior to joining GE, Ari was a strategic consultant and case leader with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), participating in and leading studies in the computer, automotive, and telecommunications industries. Before BCG, Ari went through the Manufacturing Management Program (MMP) at GE in a variety of roles and businesses. Ari started his career as a Computer Design Engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation.

Ari has an MBA from the University of Chicago with High Honors, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with High Distinction. He currently serves on the Boards of Wellman Inc., ECI Inc., and RMX LLC, and is the Board Chair of Water.org, a non-profit organization.
