Ellen Koskinas is a partner with InterWest Partners, a leading diversified venture capital firm with $1.6 billion under management. She invests primarily in medical device companies, but is also involved in making biotech investments. Ms. Koskinas serves on the boards of Applied Spine Technologies and Neuronetics. She is also an active observer on the boards of CardioMind, Epicor, Cellomics, NeuroPace, Corgentech and Paracor. Ms. Koskinas has spent her career in the life sciences field, in strategic, operating and investment roles. Prior to InterWest, she was a Managing Director at Seven Hills Partners, a start-up venture capital firm, where she spearheaded new investments in the life sciences sector. Previously, Ms. Koskinas held multiple roles in marketing and business development at Guidant Corporation, where she started a new business in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (currently $80 million in sales) and then led Guidant's acquisition of CardioThoracic Systems. She has also served as an Engagement Manager for McKinsey & Company, managing projects for a broad range of pharmaceutical, health care delivery and medical device clients. At the outset of her career, Ms. Koskinas worked in Corporate Finance at Morgan Stanley in New York and London. She received her M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business and her B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Harvard University.
