Eric Reuter is a medical device executive with nearly 30 years of product design and development, project management, and executive management experience in both public and private companies and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of California. Eric is currently on the board of Procept Biorobotics, an early stage medical device company focusing on the development of an innovative new treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Eric was president, chief executive officer, and a director of Satiety, a private, venture-backed clinical development company focused on developing a minimally invasive solution for obesity. From 1999 to 2006, he was president, CEO and a director of Laserscope, a NASDAQ publicly traded company. Laserscope was sold to AMS in 2006. Eric joined Laserscope as Vice President of Research and Development in 1996. From 2007 to 2010, Eric also served as the independent director at Insound, a medical device company focused on developing innovative solutions for the hearing impaired. Insound was sold to Senova AG in 2010. Before joining Laserscope, from 1994 to 1996 Eric was employed at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center at Stanford University (SLAC) as the Project Engineer for the B-Factory High Energy Ring, an electron storage ring used for high-energy physics research. Eric also began his engineering career at SLAC where he served in increasingly responsible engineering and leadership roles from 1984 to 1991. From 1991 to 1994, Eric served as a senior staff engineer and program manager in medical accelerator and digital imaging development at Siemens Medical Systems — Oncology Care Systems, a medical device company. Eric received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science and Engineering at the University of California at Davis where he also played varsity basketball. Eric grew up in Kirkwood, CA and is an avid outdoorsman, mountain and road cyclist, skier and snowboarder. He has two children and is currently splitting his time between Los Gatos and Lake Tahoe, CA.
