Dr. Fay Xing is a Principal at Decheng Capital and has been with the firm since its inception. She was most recently a senior manager at Medtronic Cardiovascular, CRDM and Neurological divisions where she led global product launches, conducted customer market research and engaged in partner alliance negotiation and contracting. Prior to her marketing role, Dr. Xing worked as a corporate venture associate focusing on the Asia Pacific. During her tenure, she initiated collaboration discussions with startups, physician groups, government officials and sourced and conducted due diligence on a number of life sciences companies in China. Additionally, she proposed a research and development plan for Medtronic Asia. Prior to Medtronic, Dr. Xing served as one of the co-founders of CardioCool, a medical device start-up that patented a device using the trans-esophageal method to induce cardiac hypothermia and hence delay the onset of cell death. Prior to entering business, Dr. Xing worked as a resident physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MD from Stanford Medical School and a BA, magna cum laude, from Columbia University.
