Dr. Litvack received his doctorate in
medicine from McGill University in 1979
and is Professor of Medicine at UCLA.
Board certified in Internal Medicine,
Cardiovascular Diseases and
Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Litvack co-
directed the Cardiovascular Intervention
Center at Cedars-Sinai from 1986 until
2000. A nationally recognized leader in
cardiovascular research, he has
published several hundred articles,
chapters and abstracts. A prolific
entrepreneur, Dr. Litvack has founded
several successful interventional
cardiology companies: Advanced
Interventional Systems (AIS), where he
developed the first FDA-approved
excimer laser angioplasty system;
Progressive Angioplasty Systems
(PAS), which was acquired by US
Surgical for $150 million; and, Immusol,
which has raised nearly $100 million and
has been featured in the Wall Street
Journal several times for its significant
discoveries and pharmaceutical
partnerships. Dr. Litvack is a General
Partner in Calmedica Capital, a closely-
held partnership that invests in
technology start-ups. He is currently the
Chairman of the Board of Savacor, a
start-up medical device company
addressing the congestive heart failure
market, and Fasturn, a software
development company.
