Gilbert Kilman, M.D., is a general partner at InterWest Partners, a medical device consulting firm. Dr. Kliman focuses on healthcare investing with a special interest in opthamology, medical devices, and healthcare IT. He is responsible for a portfolio of 10 InterWest companies, including Aerogen, ePocrates, INC Research, Inspire Pharmaceuticals, Intralase, Neuropace, Radiant Medical, Radiovascular Systems, Spinal Dynamics, and Xenon Genetics. Currently, Dr. Kliman is a board member of Autonomic Technologies, Doximity, Glaukos, On Demand Therapeutics, Restoration Robotics, and ReVision Optics. Prior to InterWest, Dr. Kliman was a senior associate in the healthcare groups at venture capital firms TA Associates in Boston and Norwest Venture Capital in Palo Alto. He is a board certified ophthalmologist, and the former West Coast Director of LCA Vision, a network of laser eye surgery centers. He was also an assistant professor at Tufts New England Eye Center and on the clinical faculty at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Kliman has a B.A. from Harvard University, an M.D. from University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from Stanford University. Additionally, he completed an Ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Institute and a retina fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear infirmary as a Heed Fellow. He is also a National Trustee for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
