Jim Shapiro is a managing director of Kearny Venture Partners where he focuses on investments in the medical device industry. Additionally, he serves on the boards of directors of Baxano, CVRx, Hansen Medical [NASDAQ: HNSN], SpinalMotion (also a co-founder), Tandem Diabetes Care (Observer), TranS1 [NASDAQ: TSON] and TriVascular. Prior to joining Kearny, Mr. Shapiro led Alex., Brown's healthcare investment banking practice where he provided financing and mergers & acquisitions support to emerging and established healthcare companies. Before Alex. Brown, Mr. Shapiro was an associate at Goldman Sachs as well as an analyst at Bank of America. He holds a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
