Nandan Lad , MD, PhD
Stanford, CA Lucile Packard Biodesign Innovation Fellow, 07-08Nandan Lad is currently exploring innovations in anesthesia/critical care. Nandan is also a resident in the Stanford Department of Neurological Surgery. Prior to Biodesign and Neurosurgery residency, he studied Biology as an undergraduate at California State University, Los Angeles in the Early Entrance Program (EEP), starting college at age thirteen. He then pursued his medical and graduate school training at Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University. Nandan's graduate research focused on Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) structure, function and signaling and its role in cell survival and neurodegenerative diseases. He is eager to learn the Biodesign process and combine the latest in biotechnology, bioengineering and surgery to develop novel approaches that will improve patient care and further advance medicine.
