As an interventional cardiologist, Sandeep holds faculty position in a premier, tertiary-care academic institute in New Delhi. He has obtained his medical graduation and post-graduation degree from University of Delhi and subsequently completed three years of super specialization in Cardiology in 1998. As a medical student, he received several honours for his academic performance.

Presently, he is involved in various multi-center trials on cardiac devices and has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and chapters in the books. He has been awarded the prestigious 'Tata-Innovation Award' of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India in recognition of his outstanding contribution in translational research by creating innovative platform technologies. He has also been awarded the International Award of‘Excellence in Cardiology’ during the VIII World Congress on Clinical, Preventive Cardiology and Imaging- 2013. He has held the position of Editorial Secretary for the Indian Heart Journal and is an 'Executive Member' of the Cardiological Society of India (Delhi Branch).

Sandeep harbours the passion of innovating simple and cost-effective devices. His postdoctoral certification in the Stanford-India Biodesign (SIB) Program in the year 2008 gave him the platform to be co-inventor of many such innovative novel devices and hold several patents on his name. In addition, being a faculty at SIB, his role is to strengthen the roots of biodesign process in India as well as internationally.
