Precision Health in Dermatology
Skin Cancer Genetics Clinic
The Skin Cancer Genetics Clinic focuses on the diagnosis and care patients with genetic disorders of the skin and increased risk of skin cancer. Patients served include those with both known and unknown inherited skin disorders or at high-risk of skin cancer. Known inherited cancer syndromes include Li-Fraumeni, familial melanoma and pancreatic cancer, BRCA1 and BRCA2, neurofibromatosis and Lynch Syndrome. We provide diagnosis, preventative skin surveillance and education to these patients. Our team of physicians, nurses, and genetic counselors work together to provide the very best in care for our patients. We offer both standard genetic testing, skin screening, education and participation in investigative protocols.
Investigation
Our investigative efforts focus on precision health in dermatology. As part of our research efforts, we employing cutting edge genomic and molecular based information to stratify an individual’s risk of developing skin cancer, inform disease prognosis, detect early skin cancer, and guide therapy decisions . We also utilize whole genome sequencing to understand families with rare undiagnosed disorders and also are engaged more broadly in studying common genetic variants which confer skin cancer risk.
