Herman McKee, Ass't Manager, Ass't Professional. His tenure with the Course is the longest of any member on the teaching staff, having come to Stanford in 1983. Russ Vander Sluis, Golf Professional, has been teaching at Stanford Golf Course since 2001. Russ competed in several pro tournaments in Japan in 1994 and founded the Vander Sluis Golf Academy in Toyko where he taught for six years and held golf clinics throughout Asia. Jim Miller, PGA Class A member, was originally hired in 1993 to teach the Stanford P.E golf classes. In May 2011, Jim joined the Stanford golf operations team as an assistant golf professional. Lessons & Teaching Rates
Finding the right golf instructor is an important step to improving your game. At the Stanford Golf Course, our Professionals are certified to teach every level of golfer, from beginners to scratch players.
Both private and group lessons are offered, and sessions can last from 30 to 60 minutes. All lessons are held in a reserved, grass section of the Stanford Driving Range, with 9-hole playing lessons offered on the spectacular Stanford Golf Course.
