MS&E’s Margaret Brandeau was recognized in three different ways at the 2015 INFORMS Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, which ran from November 1st through November 4th.
Recognition 1: Brandeau gave the OMEGA RHO Distinguished Lecture on Operations Research and Management Science.
The OMEGA RHO Distinguished Lecture on Operations Research and Management Science is among the world’s most prestigious lectures, and has been presented as a plenary at INFORMS Meetings since 1983.
Recognition 2: Brandeau received the 2015 Philip McCord Morse Lectureship Award.
This two-year Lectureship is awarded in honor of Philip McCord Morse and his pioneer contribution to operations research and management science (OR/MS). The award comprises of $2,000, a certificate, a travel fund of $5,000, a copy of Morse's autobiography In at the Beginnings: A Physicist's Life, and a copy of Morse and Kimball's Methods of Operations Research.
Recognition 3: Brandeau received the 2015 Award for the Advancement of Women in Operations Research and the Management Sciences (WORMS).
This annual plaque award recognizes an individual who has significantly contributed to the advancement and recognition of women in the OR/MS field.
