Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous October 2014

The Stanford LASERs are part of a national program of gatherings that brings artists and scientists together for informal presentations and conversation with the audience. Each evening event, free of charge and open to the public, will present four artists, scientists, thinkers, inventors, and scholars who are working on paradigm shifts. Each evening also allows the audience to socialize and encourages people in the audience to briefly introduce their own work. Chaired by cultural historian Piero Scaruffi.

The evening of October 9th  will feature presentations by:

  • Andrea Stevenson Won (Stanford's Communication Dept) on "The Stanford Virtual Human Interaction Lab"
  • Margot Knight (Djerassi Resident Artists Program) on "Scientific Delirium Madness"
  • Maria McVarish (Stanford/ Modern Thought and Literature) on "Mapping the Uncharted: Non-Cartesian Spaces"
  • Patricia Lange (California College of the Arts) on "Evaluating Techno-Aesthetics in Video"

 

Location: Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge at Stanford University School of Medicine, Room LK120. There should be ample parking in the structure on corner of Campus Drive West and Roth Way. This event is free and open to the public.
