Lawrence Mathers, a much-beloved teacher, pediatrician and musician who touched the lives of nearly every medical student to pass through Stanford’s medical school for 30 years, has died at age 62.
At the PCA Program, we have our own fond memories of Dr. Mathers - for his unflagging commitment to our students' education, his accomplished piano playing with our own Kevin Smith (class of 2006), and his wicked sense of humor.
