How to Start a Department Bike Share Program

At the Robert Crown Law Library, law school faculty, staff, and students borrow bikes and even a scooter from the “human-powered vehicle collection.” The library provides riders with bike helmets, bike lights, and locks, and they contract with the Campus Bike Shop for maintenance.

Parking & Transportation Services (P&TS) partnered with Sustainable Stanford to create this guide to encourage departments to implement their own bike share programs to make it easier for faculty and staff to ride rather than drive to campus destinations, and at the same time reap the benefits of exercise, fresh air, and the convenience of getting around on two wheels.
