FOR RESEARCHERS – Collaboration Agreement Information

 

From time to time, Stanford researchers do collaborative projects with industry where each side contributes significant scientific expertise to the research and covers its own costs. In the agreement documenting these unfunded collaborations, the parties may agree to share research materials. Each party owns the results and intellectual property created by its employees in the collaboration. Neither party receives rights in the other party’s intellectual property. Jointly created intellectual property and results are jointly owned. Either party may publish results, or the parties may agree that joint publication is expected.
