Eight Named All-Academic

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford softball student-athletes accumulated eight Pac-12 All-Academic honors, including a conference-best five members on the first and second teams, as announced by the Pac-12 Thursday.

Kayla Bonstrom (international relations) was named to the first team, while Lauren Bertoy , Bessie Noll, Kaitlin Schaberg (management science and engineering) and Kylie Sorenson were second-team selections. Erin Ashby (communication), Madi Schreyer and Tylyn Wells (political science) each earned honorable mention recognition.

The Cardinal’s eight honors ties Washington for the most in the conference. Stanford earned a conference-best five representatives on the first and second teams.

Bonstrom, Schaberg and Wells earned the second Pac-12 All-Academic honors of their careers. Bonstrom was a second-team honoree in 2014, while Schaberg and Wells were honorable mentions.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
