STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford is well-represented on the 2015 College Gymnastics Association All-America Scholar-Athlete list with 11 student-athletes earning recognition, as announced Monday by the organization.
The Cardinal placed seven individuals on the first team, highlighted by Michael Levy’s fourth consecutive first-team selection, and four members on the second team.
As a team, Stanford registered the third-highest team GPA in the country with a 3.373, trailing only William and Mary (3.458) and Springfield (3.373).
Stanford first-team representatives include Jonathan Deaton, Jordan DeClerk, Brian Knott, Levy, Wilson Patton, Drew Willoughby and Dennis Zaremski. Second-team selections include Akash Modi, Robert Neff, Taylor Seaton and Sean Senters.
The CGA selected 65 gymnasts to the first team, earning a GPA of 3.50-4.0, while naming 63 gymnasts to the second team who tallied a GPA of 3.20-3.49.
Stanford continued to showcase its status as one of the nation’s elite programs in 2015, earning its ninth top-three finish at the NCAA Championships in the past 10 seasons.
The Cardinal completed the season with a second-place finish at the national championships. Stanford went 19-4, registering 17 wins over top-10 opponents, including four ranked in the top five. Five Cardinal gymnasts combined for 10 All-America honors and three gymnasts earned NCAA titles.
