ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Maverick McNealy took sole possession of third on Stanford’s all-time chart with his eighth career win Sunday at the United States Collegiate Championship.

The junior charged with a final-round 67 that jumped him 16 spots into a tie for medalist honors at The Golf Club of Georgia’s Lakeside Course, with Stanford tying for sixth among the 16-team field.

McNealy is three wins shy of matching the school record shared by Patrick Rodgers and Tiger Woods. It was McNealy’s third top-10 finish in as many events on the season.

At the par-72 track, McNealy opened with a 69 and bounced back from a second-round 74 with a 5-under 67 to close the books. He had one bogey over his final 20 holes and put together a four-birdie stretch in as many holes in his opening round.

McNealy shared the top billing with Wake Forest’s Cameron Young. Auburn and Wake Forest tied for the team trophy with a 9-under 855.

Stanford tied with Texas with a 5-over 869 (290-289-290).

Brandon Wu (70-73-76) tied for 31st, David Boote (76-71-76) tied for 46th, Jeffrey Swegle (75-78-71) tied for 50th with Viraat Badhwar (76-71-77). Swegle ended the tournament with an eagle on the par-5 18th.

Stanford returns to the course at the Gifford Collegiate Championship (Nov. 2-4) in Carlsbad, California.
