Women Dominate PCCSC's

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The Stanford sailing team finished in the top two at two PCCSC Championships this past weekend.

The Cardinal had a strong showing in the PCCSC Fall Women’s Championship, taking four of the top five spots. Freshmen skipper Maria El-Khazindar and sophomore crew Grace Lucas won seven of 15 races to win the championship, followed by the freshmen tandem of skipper Martina Sly and crew Maggie Schult.



Freshman skipper Cassie Obel and junior crew Lauren Block finished third, while sophomore skipper Elena VandenBerg and freshman crew Meg Gerli took fourth.  

Sophomore skipper Luke Muller, junior crew Daniel Ron and senior crew Sammy Steele represented the Cardinal in the PCCSC Match Race Championship. The Cardinal finished second to UC Santa Barbara, who won in a head-to-head tiebreaker.



Stanford is back in action next weekend when it travels to the men’s and women’s Singlehanded Nationals in Norfolk, Virginia.
