SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Stanford took seventh place at the weather-shortened Fall PCCSC Coed Championship this past weekend.
With almost no wind on Saturday, racing was postponed until Sunday, which yielded far better sailing conditions. The Cardinal was represented across three divisions by the freshman tandems of Mimi El-Khazindar and Kathryn Booker, Martina Sly and Meg Gerli and William Marshall and Maggie Schult.
Sly and Gerli led the way, taking fourth place in the B-division. El-Khazindar and Booker took sixth place in the A-division, while Marshall and Schult matched th em with sixth place in the C-division.
Stanford’s next event is the Big Sail, which takes place Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, California. Sailors will compete across four divisions: Varsity (current seniors), Alumni (39 years and younger), Masters (40-59 years old) and Grand Masters (60+ years old).
