In 1927, near the exact chronological midpoint between America’s first car and its first bulky computer, a group of construction workers broke ground on Palo Alto’s historic Varsity Theatre. The space, which hosted first-run movies for 50 years, was a hub for community and conversation.
Following a brief stint as a bookstore, the Varsity Theatre was revitalized in 2015 through a partnership with our friends at HanaHaus. The result is an expansive café and communal workspace that courts Palo Alto’s bootstrappy community—entrepreneurs, artists, foodies, and everyone in between. In addition to our standard coffee and pastry offerings, we serve a savory menu during breakfast and lunch. And, in what some might consider a stunning (though not altogether surprising, given the geography) departure, Wi-Fi is available for all.
