M. Suzanne (Susan) Calandra is Senior Associate Vice-President for Finance and leads the Financial Management Services (FMS) organization. FMS includes the Office of the Treasurer, Procurement, the Controller’s Office, Global Business Services and Financial Management Consulting and Support, comprised of Information Systems and Reporting, Training and Communications, a Campus Support Center and a Business Process and Metrics group. Susan joined Stanford in 1993 as Associate Controller. She served as University Controller from 1995 until 2009, when she accepted the role of interim Chief Financial Officer of the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. In August 2010, she assumed her current position, leading Financial Management Services.
Before joining Stanford, Susan served as Controller of the Courtyard Hotel Division of Marriott Corporation in Washington, DC and prior to Marriott, she was a senior audit manager with Price Waterhouse, serving clients in a myriad of industries.
Susan holds a BA in Economics and Business from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana. She currently serves as a Trustee and Audit Committee Chair of St. Mary’s.
