Internship positions will be updated in December for the summer 2016 program.
The Stanford Global Studies (SGS) Division offers highly qualified Stanford students an opportunity to extend classroom knowledge of the world, to immersive cultural and working experiences through the Global Studies Internship Program. The Program celebrated its 10th anniversary in Beijing in 2014.
Program identified internship positions cover a wide range of fields, including business, non-profit, media, education, medicine, art, technology, science and government. The Program also supports students for self-arranged internships at locations without travel warnings issued by the U.S. Department of State. The overall stipend base (from the program, the host organization, or both) for summer 2016 is $6,000 for each intern.
Currently enrolled freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and coterms at Stanford in ALL majors are eligible to apply, including undeclared students. Some positions in Asia are open to graduate students.
In summer 2015, Stanford interns participated in the program in Argentina, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, China, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Japan, Nicaragua, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, and Uganda. Islamic and Iranian Studies related positions were located in the U.S. More geographic locations might be added based on student demand. The Global Studies Internship Program collaborates with international area studies programs and centers within SGS.
