- Competed in four meets, covering four events (pole vault, high jump, 200, 4x100).
- Had most success in the pole vault, with a season best 14-8 1/4 while placing fourth at the Big Meet.
Indoors
- Competed in three events at the Don Kirby Invitational: the 60 meters (7.41), the 4x400 (3:23.57), and the pole vault (NH).
- Cleared 14-9 in the vault at the Cherry & Silver meet, also in Albuquerque.
High School:
- Won the 2012 Michigan Division I Lower Peninsula outdoor championship in the pole vault at 15-4.
- Also captured the state indoor title.
- A double winner (pole vault and long jump) at the Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference Big 16 championships.
- Won six All-City titles (twice each in the long jump, high jump and pole vault), four conference titles and two regional titles (both in pole vault).
- Played football at Lakeview, winning All-City and All-Big 16 honors as a free safety and receiver.
- Named Battle Creek Enquirer's Boys Athlete of the Year.

- Wears a helmet when he vaults.
- Scored a perfect 36 in math on the ACT.
