EUGENE, Ore. – Stanford dropped the series finale at No. 4/7 Oregon 8-0 in six innings Saturday afternoon.

The Ducks (26-4, 6-0 Pac-12) scored two runs in four different innings and limited the Cardinal's (11-14, 0-3 Pac12) offense to two hits to seal the series sweep.

Carolyn Lee (6-8) got the start in the circle and contributed another strong outing, permitting five runs –three earned – on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 4.0 innings. Haley Snyder came in as relief and did well to keep Stanford within striking distance.

Molly Fowkes and Kaitlin Schaberg provided the offense for Stanford, registering a single apiece. Snyder contributed solid at-bats as well, drawing two walks.

Highlights from Saturday's game at Oregon.

Oregon took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning when Lauren Lindvall hit a two-out two-RBI double to right field.

Stanford had its best opportunity in the top of the fourth inning when Snyder walked and Schaberg followed with a single to put runners on first and second with two outs. However, the Cardinal was unable to find the hit needed to get on the board.

Oregon capitalized on an error and produced a sacrifice fly to double its lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Ducks loaded the bases with no outs but Lee was able to pitch out of the jam with help from her defense, allowing just one run on the sacrifice fly.

Oregon added two runs on three hits in the following inning to extend its lead to 6-0. With runners on second and third with no outs, Snyder got out of the jam with a strikeout, pop out and a ground out.

A one out RBI-double by Koral Costa in the bottom of the sixth gave the Ducks a 7-0 lead. The Ducks proceeded to load the bases and Gwen Svekis hit a slow-roller to third that Arden Pettit fielded but hit the player going home with the ball, allowing the run to score and end the game.

The Cardinal continues play next week with a midweek game at Santa Clara on Wednesday before playing host to Oregon State for a three-game series.
