Deidre is a Private Sector Advisor who advises students and alumni on private sector careers in law firms and in-house. Deidre presents on a variety of career-related issues such as job search techniques, interviewing, communications skills, networking, professionalism and alternative career opportunities. After graduating from UC Davis School of Law, Deidre practiced corporate/securities law at Cooley LLP in Palo Alto for almost 20 years. During this time, she founded and directed “Cooley College,” the firm’s pre-eminent corporate training program and headed the firm’s first professional development and knowledge management efforts. She further served as a resource attorney firm-wide for all paralegals and other attorneys. Deidre was, at various times, a member of the Recruiting, Summer Associate, Associate Retention and Risk Management Committees. She was extensively involved in the firm’s summer associate program and on campus interviewing. Deidre is certified to administer the MBTI personality assessment.
