Bio Carlos A. Gomez, MD is an Immunocompromised Host ID Fellow at the Division of Infectious Diseases & Geographic Medicine. He received his Medicine Degree from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, in Bogota, Colombia (2006). He trained in Internal Medicine at University of Pittsburgh (2014) and pursued fellowship training in both, Infectious Diseases at the Division of Infectious Diseases & Geographic Medicine (2016) and Clinical Microbiology at the Department of Pathology, Stanford School of Medicine (2017). His research work has focused on Infectious Diseases complications associated to Transplantation (Solid-Organ and Haematological transplantation), cancer and immunosuppression; molecular diagnostics applied to the immunocompromised host; and new developments on clinical microbiology.
