Audrey Verde
Resident in Radiology
Bio Audrey is a first year Radiology Resident who received her MD-PhD, and Medicine Prelim training from UNC Chapel Hill. For her Neurobiology PhD Audrey helped to develop a pipeline of tools to analyze diffusion weighted images, which she then used to perform DTI and quantitative tractography to investigate the episodic memory circuitry in cigarette smokers and nonsmokers. Besides radiology and research, Audrey’s passions are advocacy, mentorship, leadership, and policy. At UNC she co-founded the UNC Advocates for MD-PhD Women in Science, which worked to promote the success, recognition, and excellence of women in academic medicine and medical research. Through this organization she founded an inter-institutional annual symposium advocating for women MD-PhDs. Audrey hopes to continue this work by advocating for women and other underrepresented minorities within Radiology.
