Welcome to The Science Bus Wiki
The Science Bus is an after-school science program for 2nd through 5th grade children at the East Palo Alto Charter School (EPACS), a great school in a low-income part of the San Francisco Bay Area. The program is developed and taught by graduate and undergraduate students at Stanford University.

We welcome any member of the Stanford Community who has knowledge of science and an interest in teaching (no experience necessary) to join us and make a difference in the lives of promising young students. Commitment time is flexible so feel free to come only once or as often as you like.

Description of volunteer requirements

Post Lesson Evaluation
If you have volunteered as a tutor for any lesson this quarter we would love your feedback on how you thought the lesson went (i.e. too long, too short, too hard, too easy, etc..) and if anything what would you change. To make these comments select the lesson from the lessons page and edit the page to leave a comment. Please append your comment to any already written on the page and sign with four tildes ( ~ ~ ~ ~ ). If you want other possible questions to consider for post lesson evaluation take a look at Lesson Evaluation Questions that was taken from a teaching forum.

Lesson Archive

The science bus lesson archive now includes lesson plans going back until Winter 2002. If you have any lesson plans not found in the archive please upload them by creating a new page named "Quarter Year - Lesson Name" (e.g. Summer 2004 - Vaulting) and tag the page with "quarter year", all lower case (e.g. summer 2004). On the page insert the files for that lesson.
