Stanford Campus Climate Survey

Stanford University administered a campus climate survey in the spring of 2015, encouraging all undergraduate and graduate students to participate and provide their perspectives. The survey asked students about their perceptions of campus community, culture and safety as well as their experiences with prohibited sexual conduct.
Results of the survey were issued in fall 2015.

Provost John Etchemendy announced in May 2014 the creation of a student-faculty-staff task force to recommend ways to enhance Stanford's educational efforts around sexual assault, to improve support for those who have experienced sexual violence, and to improve its policies and disciplinary processes for reported cases of sexual assault. The committee, chaired by M. Elizabeth Magill (Dean of the Law School) and Elizabeth Woodson (2014-15 ASSU President ) issued its report in April 2015.

In a recent letter to the Stanford community regarding the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, Provost John Etchemendy said the university has established protocols to reduce the risks to the community posed by the virus, and to identify, isolate and begin care should the campus have a case in the Stanford Health Care network.

Stanford Earns WASC Reaccreditation

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) has reaffirmed Stanford University's accreditation across all seven schools, commending Stanford for promoting student success and for completing over the last six years "a very thorough and thoughtful examination of virtually all aspects of the undergraduate experience." Stanford earned the maximum period of time - 10 years - until its next review by WASC's Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities. Read more
