Paraesophageal Hernia Treatment: Laparoscopic Surgery
In the past, the surgical correction involved extensive open surgery. At Stanford, our team offers patients laparoscopic paraesophageal hernia repair. During this procedure, we place the stomach in the abdomen and perform a Nissen fundoplication. The entire operation is performed through five small abdominal incisions instead of a large abdominal incision.
Recovering From a Paraesophageal Hernia Surgery
