Network Self-Registration (SNSR)

The Stanford Network Self-Registration (SNSR) service combines a web-based self-registration application and the Stanford Network Registration Tool (SNRT) to streamline registration of computers on the Stanford Network.

Through the use of NetDB template options, the system accommodates some custom configuration — on a network segment basis — by local network administrators (LNAs) for their wired networks.

Self registration is also available for computers accessing Stanford's centrally-supported wireless networks.

Features

  • An easy process for registering computers on the Stanford Network
  • Improved desktop security
  • Improved accuracy of network records

Getting started

Stanford Network Self-Registration is offered as a per-network opt-in service.

To have this service added to a wired network, an LNA should request assistance from a Department Network Engineer via HelpSU.
