Around 5pm on May 2, 2014 Raquel Espinosa was involved in a traffic collision with a parked car on the 2100 block of Sahara Way. The suspect fled the scene with a young child, but was contacted by SCPD Officers as she was walking away from the scene. The suspect did not have a driver's license and she admitted to driving the vehicle involved in the collision and displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. The small child was transported to VMC for treatment of non-critical injuries.

On May 3, 2014, Trevor Tyson asked to borrow a screw driver from employees at the Granada Motel. Tyson then used the screw driver to steal three flat screen televisions, one lamp, one mirror and one DVD player. It appeared there was an accomplice/get away driver in a white SUV. Officers recovered the stolen property and Tyson was booked into county jail for burglary, possession of a controlled substance, being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting/delaying an officer.

An elderly victim who lived alone had their home burglarized by suspect Gregory Gutierrez. While the victim was not home, Gutierrez burglarized the residence of jewelry and cash.The victim discovered the theft and reported it. SCPD Officers located Gregory Gutierrez and arrested him and booked him into county jail for burglary and elder abuse. Gregory Gutierrez also had arrest warrants for burglary, robbery and drug possession.

On Saturday May 17, 2014, a SCPD Officer made contact with Peter Levya. Peter Levya tried to lie about his identity, but the Officer was quickly able to discover his true identity and confirmed with our records department that he was a parolee at large. Levya had missed a meeting with his parole agent and had removed his ankle monitor so his agent could not locate him. This was a great stop by the Officer! The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Jail.

On June 1, 2014, SCPD at 9:00 A.M. responded to a call from a female that said she was approached and followed by a male in the area of Lafayette and Benton. The female refused to talk to the male and she was threatened. An Officer located the male nearby and he was arrested. The male was identified as Yashar Talebi and was also under the influence of a controlled substance.

On July 6, 2014 Hung Chan was stopped by an SCPD Officer for not having a front license plate on his vehicle in the Jack in the Box parking lot. Chan was arrested for driving with a suspended driver's license, being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On August 31st, a 7-11 clerk called to report that he had been assaulted. Officers arrived to find Haile Sbhatu intoxicated and causing a disturbance. Officers also learned that Sbhatu grabbed and scratched the clerk. Haile Sbhatu was arrested and booked into County jail.

An SCPD Officer located two male subjects involved in illegal dumping behind the Safeway on Winchester and Stevens Creek on August 30th. One of the subjects, Felix Arroyo, had methamphetamine in his pocket. Arroyo was arrested for possession of an illegal drug. Great work Officer! #SantaClaraPD

They made contact with three brothers Randy Datcher, John Farris, and Jessie Farris who consented to a search of their room. The Officers quickly spotted materials and evidence associated with the manufacturing of counterfeit checks and identification. All three men were arrested for conspiracy, manufacturing counterfeit checks, and ID theft.

On June 2, 2014, Officers developed information that Richard Bebee was in possession of stolen property. Bebee was soon located by Officers and was in possession of a stolen commercial grade transformer. Bebee was arrested and booked into County Jail for grand theft. Great job on following up on the new info! #SantaClaraPD

On June 7, 2014 and SCPD Officer observed a vehicle driving erratically, then saw the suspect Luisito Timbang throw a lit object out of his window. The Officer proceeded to make a traffic stop. The Officer determined that Luisito Timbang was under the influence of a controlled substance, and upon searching the suspects vehicle found drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested and processed at our Temporary Holding Facility. Great work Officer! #SantaClaraPD

On June 7th, 2014 around 1:45am two SCPD Officers witnessed a vehicle on East bound El Camino Real and Scott driving at an extreme rate of speed. It was determined by the Officers that Manuel Alva was driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested and booked into County Jail

An SCPD Officer stopped Brett Thompson on June 13, 2014 at San Tomas and Scott Blvd for displaying signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A search of Thompson and his backpack resulted in finding five plastic baggies that contained crystal methamphetamine, a glass meth. pipe and a scale.Thompson was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation.

On June 13, 2014 Victor Garcia was stopped by an SCPD Officer for expired registration. After getting Garcia's information the Officer found out that Garcia also had a suspended driver's license and a warrant for his arrest for driving on a suspended driver's license. Garcia was arrested for his traffic warrant, possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

On June 14, 2014 SCPD Officer's where dispatched to the parking garage behind City Lights Coffee Shop, on the report that a man with a knife was chasing another man. Upon arrival an Officer located the suspect Raul Flores sitting in his vehicle. The suspect was intoxicated and uncooperative. With the assistance of a few more SCPD Officers the knife was located and Flores was taken into custody. Raul Flores was arrested and taken to County Jail. Great job Officers! #SantaClaraPD

Cornell Carte was stopped by an SCPD Officer on June 14, 2014 for numerous vehicle code violations. Cornell Carter was arrested and booked into county jail for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

On June 18, two SCPD Officers stopped a car for a vehicle code violation. While one of the Officers gave our records dept. the occupants information, the second Officer stood by the passenger side of the car with the driver. The driver thought he could be sneaky and remove drugs from his pants pocket and attempt to drop it behind the door panel. However the Officer keenly observed his actions. Two bags of meth were recovered from the car, and one Victor Ramirez was arrested.
