Superfund Site Profile
The 700 South 1600 East PCE Plume site is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Routine sampling of the Mount Olivet Cemetery irrigation well in the 1990s first detected tetrachloroethylene (PCE) contamination in groundwater. This detection led to the discovery of the site (formerly known as the Mount Olivet Cemetery Plume) and several subsequent investigations. The suspected source of contamination is historic dry-cleaning operations at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Investigation of the site is ongoing.
