The Stanford Recycling Drop Off Center Acceptable/Not Acceptable Materials list in the table below lists materials that can be dropped off at the Drop Off Center already sorted into their individual categories.
NOTE: The On Campus Acceptable Materials has a slightly different list of materials because we collect unsorted materials (paper, glass, metals mixed in the recycling bins across campus) and sort the material at the Recycling Center.

A Special Note about Monitors and Televisions
Computer Monitors, Televisions Sets, Laptop Computers, and Plasma Screens are accepted for recycling at our office at 339 Bonair Siding, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.
Please do not leave them at the Stanford Recycling Drop-Off Center. It will be considered abandoned waste and will cost us to recycle and handle properly. The State of California will not fund the recycling of these items unless we can provide the official forms and it will cost the drop-off center! We are able to accept these items in our office free of charge because of California’s Electronic Waste Law (2005). The Law requires the consumer to declare that the item was purchased and used in California. To make this declaration, you, the consumer, must provide your name and physical address (P.O. Boxes are not accepted) in a State of California form in our office.
For more information about California’s Electronic Waste Law, see http://e-recycle.org.
Visit our E-Waste FAQ web page for answers to Frequently Asked Questions about e-waste.
